Male infertility is the inability to achieve pregnancy despite regular and unprotected sexual intercourse. A male factor plays a role in approximately 40 to 50% of all infertility cases.

This condition can develop due to many different causes, such as disorders of sperm production, sperm quality, sperm motility or hormonal balance. In some patients, the underlying cause may be structural or genetic.

Today, thanks to advanced diagnostic and laboratory methods, the causes of male infertility can largely be identified, and many patients can gain the chance to become a biological father with appropriate treatment options.
